The voile curtains (‘voiles’) shown here were made with pencil pleat heading tape and are fitted on corded tracks to enable them to be used in the same way as any other pair of curtains.
The patterned curtains at either side of these windows are dress curtains made from just a single width of fabric. They cannot be used as full curtains as they aren’t wide enough. They were designed and made only to frame the window.
It is possible to achieve a similar look to that seen here using a blind and dress curtains rather than the voiles and dress curtains selected for this room. In general one could choose, for example, a blind in a patterned fabric with a plain fabric dress curtain. These dress curtains are fitted on 60cm pieces of curtain track. There are also pleated blinds on other windows in the same room which look lovely and not out of place because they are on the side windows.
